Rising from the famous holy Mt. Kailash in Tibet the Karnali River is Nepal’s Wild West River. It is the longest and largest river in Nepal. It carves through the Himalayan landscape into many beautiful gorges and canyons. as it flows down into the forests of western Nepal. Travel through some of the most pristine jungle in Nepal filled with an abundance of wildlife. You may see tigers, deer, monkey and many species of birds. The river is very popular for fishing with many different species. The area is relatively unpopulated and has a real wilderness feel. Rapids such as ‘Rattle and Roll’, ‘Inversion’, ‘Juicer Shake’, ‘Freight Train’ and many more will provide plenty of excitement. Camping on sandy beaches and the remote feel of the Karnali River will give a true expedition experience.
Airborne Adventure Nepal offers the Karnali river expedition from March to May where we offer 11 days’ trip Kathmandu to Kathmandu. From October to mid-December we offer 10 days Kathmandu to Kathmandu starting with an overnight bus journey to Dungeswar which our starting point for the river trip. If you don’t want to take the overnight bus journey then you have the option of flying to Nepalgunj. Its’ just 35 minutes flight from Kathmandu and from there you will be driving an additional four hours to get to the Dungeswar.
If you do decide to fly instead of drive you will have to pay yourself and Airborne Adventure Nepal can organize this in advance when you book a trip. If you are happy to do a bus journey before and after the trip then its included in your package.
3 Hours Before Flight Time
Overnight bus trip to Dungeswar which paddling starting point which will be around 18 hours.
Arrive at Karnali River put in point and have lunch pack our rafts and get organized for multiday river expedition. Paddle down a few kilometres and camp.

afternoon take out have lunch and drive back to Kathmandu which is approximately 14 hours drive on our private overnight bus journey .
We will arrive from our overnight bus trip to Kathmandu or Pokhara around 7 am or 8am in the morning and you will get you storage back from our office and we will say good bye to you.

If you leaving from pokhara you need to leave 12am
